Recent Additions Expand Connections for Austin’s JL Powers Consulting Firm

AUSTIN, TX – Deepening its connections across multiple industries, long-time Austin consulting firm JL Powers and Associates has added three new consultants, expanding to more than two dozen team members.

Ed Garza, Consultant

In 2001 at the age of 32, Ed Garza became San Antonio’s youngest mayor, serving two terms after previously serving as District 7 City Council representative. In 2009 he was elected to the San Antonio Independent School District Board of Trustees, serving as board president from 2012-2015. Garza has more than two decades of experience working for private planning, design, and development firms, as well as local, state and national government entities.

Ray Hernandez, Consultant

Ray Hernandez currently serves as the president and CEO of the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce just north of Houston, and he has served as an executive or on the board of multiple chambers of commerce organizations, universities, and hospitals. He also served as a board regent and advisor for the US Chamber of Commerce’s four-year leadership program.

J. Bedford Holmes, Consultant

J. Bedford Holmes is an experienced former CEO with more 35 years of proficiency leading nonprofit organizations. Holmes has a Master of Education degree and has a successful history of working in the world of conference centers, camps, and education, focusing on creating coalitions to amplify the success of each organization.
