The Honorable Mitch Fuller is a seasoned consultant, public servant, and decorated U.S. Army veteran with a distinguished career in veterans’ advocacy, local government, and public-sector consulting. He brings extensive experience in public policy, strategic planning, and military affairs, making a lasting impact at the local, state, and national levels.


Education & Military Service

Fuller is a proud graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He went on to earn a Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and completed Ph.D. coursework (ABD) in Political Science at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

A U.S. Army veteran, Fuller served more than 17 years in both enlisted and commissioned roles in the Army Reserve and Texas Army National Guard, including 10 years of active duty. He deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005–2006) and retired at the rank of Captain. His military decorations include:

Public Service & Local Government

Fuller has a long history of public service, having served on the Cedar Park City Council from 2007 to 2014. During his tenure, he was elected Mayor Pro Tem twice (2010–2011, 2012–2013), where he played a key role in shaping local policies on water infrastructure and transportation.

His leadership extended beyond Cedar Park as he represented the city on the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) Board of Directors, serving as President from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2013 to 2014. In 2010, Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Fuller to the Texas Commission on State Emergency Communications (commonly known as the 9-1-1 Commission), where he served until 2016. He also served as Chairman of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) Central Basin Regional Council from 2013 to 2014.

His commitment to public service was recognized by readers of the Hill Country News, who voted him “Best Elected Official” in Western Williamson County in 2010 and 2011.


Veterans Advocacy & Leadership

Fuller is a passionate advocate for veterans’ issues and currently serves as the Chairman of the VFW National Legislative Committee. He also serves as the National/State Legislative Chairman for the VFW Department of Texas, where he helps shape legislative priorities for veterans at both the state and federal levels.

As a Life Member of VFW Post 10427 in Leander, Texas, Fuller previously served as Post Commander, leading the post to earn the prestigious All-American Post designation. His work in veterans’ advocacy was further recognized in 2022 when he received the Congressional Veteran Commendation for Texas’ 31st District.

Fuller’s dedication to veterans extends beyond the VFW—he is a Charter Member of the Hunter-Morris American Legion Post #911 in Cedar Park and an active member of the Reserve Officers Association and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).
